My Cousin Gregg In Front Of Fran's BBQ, Daingerfield, Tx.
Here is my cuz Gregg Dacus and his bike out in front of the restaurant run by my sister Jan and my brother Blake. Our Mom, Fran Neely, started this place and after her death my sister and brother have continued the family tradition of making BBQ and the famous Neely's Brown Pig sandwhich.
Stop in and say hi if you are ever in the neighborhood. Tell 'em Dicky sent you.

Hilton By The Sea 1972

My first home when I moved to Santa Barbara in 1971 was the Hilton by the Sea, at 15 Chapala. This was just a half a block from Cabrillo Blvd and the beach there. Stearns Wharf was a block down the street. This was a wonderful place and over time many friends of mine rented apartments here and we had a time, not to mention catching some great surf days across the street off the end of the breakwater at the harbor entrance.
On winter evenings I would go out after work and surf till sunset and paddle back across the harbor in the dark. I would walk back to my place and take off my wet suit in my nice hot shower!
